West Palm Beach, FL – January 30, 2006 – Today 2008 Presidential Candidate, Daniel Imperato, elaborated his position on Syria and reached out for Bashar Al-Assad.
“I stand up to call on Bashar The Son to not be confused with the issues at hand pertaining to the Iranian leadership and their capability of building a nuclear bomb,” said Imperato, referring to friendly relations with Iran, and Iran’s recent nuclear program and possible military offensive.
Imperato felt that Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad must declare that his nuclear program is for his people and not for war.
“The Iranian government must prove to the world that it is for peace and prosperity, and the leadership must prove to the world that their true intentions for their nuclear interest are for energy, and for the development of their country and their economy. It must be for the citizens and not for war,” expressed Imperato.
According to Imperato, Iran’s nuclear capabilities could create “the biggest disaster for the Middle East and for the rest of the world.”
Subsequently, Imperato wanted Bashar to stay strong and not combine the UN investigation into Syria with any other situations in the region.
“I call on Bashar to stand up as an individual, to stand tall and to confront the issues pertaining to the UN investigation on Hariri’s death and call on the world to remember that in a democracy its citizens must be innocent until proven guilty,” stated Imperato.
In light of Bashar’s young age and the huge job that he has ruling Syria, Imperato called on the United States, the United Naitons, and the rest of the free world to help Bashar create a democratic, free, and safe society for Syria.
Change, in Imperato’s view, will come over time to Syria, a country with deep historical roots.
“We all must realize that the old world in Damascus has old meaning, old principles, and old customs. And for a man like Bashar to take on the job of his father has a huge impact on his life. I call on Bashar to remember to love his neighbor, which is in this case is Israel and Lebanon. He must realize that it would be better for him and his family, his countrymen and his children, to have peace and not war,” asserted Imperato.
“Bashar, you must be strong and not be utilized as a vehicle that could create a disaster that could destroy your very own family and children through an act of any nuclear attack or war in which Syria would be involved.”
Imperato called on Bashar to be the gentleman and to reach out for the leaders of his region.
“I call on Bashar to stand tall and to call on the leadership of Israel and Palestine and combine his efforts to create more peace. I call on Bashar to stand tall with the Iranian leader to state that while he will remain an ally of his neighbor but it must be clear that Syria is not interested in any type of confrontation or participation in terrorism and or war at all,” stated Imperato.
Imperato finished his statement with the following remarks, “In the name of God, Bashar I call on you now to speak up and show the world that you mean business for peace and prosperity. I welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss these issues upon an official invitation by the Syrian Government. It would be a great honor and a great pleasure to represent the United States of America as a citizen and hopefully one day as the president of the United States of America.”
