West Palm Beach, FL – February 14, 2006 – In his daily address, 2008 Presidential Candidate Daniel Imperato announced that he is conducting a nationwide search for the next Vice President of the United States of America.
“Today, I am taking the next step in achieving our goal of reforming the White House for 2008. I am looking for the man or woman who will become our next Vice President,” stated Imperato.
Imperato stated that he would not use a predetermined ‘litmus test’ in order to select a running mate, and was open to the prospect of a woman running as his Vice President.
“I am not looking for someone that fits a mold; I am looking for someone that is for the people, someone who is good for America,” explained Imperato.
The Vice Presidential search was launched by Imperato in response to state statutes that prohibit an independent candidate securing ballot access without a presidential and vice presidential candidate, a statute that Imperato felt puts third party candidates at a disadvantage.
“How can a third party emerge when the Democrats and Republicans have placed so many obstacles in its way? The fact is that the American people must show the politicians that they can make all the laws and statutes that they want, but they can never suppress the voice of the America people,” proclaimed Imperato.
The statutes, according to Imperato, need to reflect America’s diverse background and allow for open political dialogue.
“Part of our freedom of speech is our ability for political expression. However, when people who are not part of the culture of corruption fostered by Democrats and Republicans, the people are not given the easy opportunity to run for political office and promote their ideas and vision for our nation,” expressed Imperato.
Imperato concluded his remarks with the following, “To the people of the United States of America, I promise you this: I promise you that I will not rest until our voices have been heard. I promise you that we will not quit, until our place has been established in the American political arena. And I promise you that we will have our day in the White House.”
