  • Hong Kong, China, and US from the Imperato Point of View

Hong Kong – After meetings with his international political advisors, 2008 Presidential Candidate Daniel Imperato of Imperato Brooks 2008 addressed relations between the US, China, and Hong Kong.

Imperato first commented on the Chinese takeover of Hong Kong from the British, which occurred in 1997.

“While the Chinese people initially concerned with China taking over Hong Kong, I believe today that life is normal. The people are working diligently towards the economic growth in mainland China and the increased strength of Hong Kong as a partner in the development of the region. The Chinese people are people of long-term vision, strength, peace, harmony, and mutual respect for all.

According to Imperato, the Chinese Government has maintained the strength and economic viability of Hong Kong and has proceeded forward to maintain the managerial aspects of Hong Kong in a similar fashion that the English did.

In his words, “the takeover of Hong Kong has proven to be, at this point, a smooth one and the economy of Hong Kong is very viable.”

However, with recent booms in the economies of China and Hong Kong, the United States has not enjoyed strong relations with both entities.

Imperato called on President George W. Bush to keep in mind his inexperience in the region, and to stop giving orders to the Chinese who are tired of Bush’s lack of diplomacy.

Due to the strained relations, China has looked inward for economic strength.

“While they respect the people of the US and have great respect for the country, they realize that their strength is in their own economy and dealing with their people. So they are now focusing on building the infrastructure and the manufacturing capability to increase the viability of product sales and distribution around the globe with Chinese products. I feel that the United States of America is at a great disadvantage not only because of the labor cost but because our administration has shun the Chinese leader Jintao,” stated Imperato.

As a result of the lack of diplomacy, US policy for China has no weight, and the administration has little influence in the region.

“There has been recent news pertaining to the building up of the Chinese military, and our Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice is not happy with it. I feel that the Chinese have the right to do as they wish and to build their country in accordance with their desire. I do not believe that the US has the right to demand China to do anything other than to maintain a peaceful relationship with United States and the rest of the world,” expressed Imperato.

Excessive demands by our government, in Imperato’s estimation, will “push China against the wall and cause greater strain.”

That’s why in an Imperato Presidency, relations with China will change.

“I come out to state that when I become president in 2008, that I will increase the relations with China and have a mutual respect and understanding of the philosophy of their customs,” explained Imperato.

Imperato also commented on increasing trade ties in between US, China, and Hong Kong, as well as upgrading US manufacturing infrastructure to meet up with global need and high quality standards.

He concluded his statement with the following remarks, “The Chinese at this point have it all; they have cash, low wages, resources, and basically have positioned themselves to capitalize on the global economy through the strengthening of their own capabilities as a superpower. The United States needs to understand the Chinese culture, mentality and needs to work towards mutually respectful, peaceful relations with Jintao and his leadership. I look forward to taking on that task for 2008.”

  • Condolences to the Reeve family for the loss of Dana Reeve

After learning of the news 2008 Presidential Candidate Daniel Imperato (www.daniel2008.com) sent his condolences.

“My personal condolence goes out to the Reeve family. I am deeply saddened by the tragic death of Ms. Reeve especially in light of the fact that Mr. Reeves was an outstanding person and had such a tragic accident that lead to his difficult and stressful life that he fought for everyday,” stated Imperato.

Reeve was much admired for her strength, both in her home life and her political activism.

“My hat goes off to the late Ms. Reeve for her courage and strength keeping their family together. I also would like to point out that Ms. Reeve’s strength enabled the late Mr. Reeve to prolong his life. It is sad to see the late Ms. Reeves life taken by lung cancer. I hope and pray that our doctors and scientists can come up with better cures for this horrible disease.”

Imperato felt that it was the children, especially, Will, who needed our support now.

“Most important at this point is that their children are in grace and comforted during this tragic time that is life. I come out to give my condolence and my special support for the children, especially Will, the young man who has gone through difficult times with the loss of his mom and dad and hope and pray that he finds the strength to deal with the problems of the past and present. My desire for him is to become stronger as an individual as he grows up and that this terrible tragedy does not alter his future life by disturbing his mental state at such a young age.”

“This young man has gone through something that not many of us have gone through. I hope and pray that his friends and family recognize this young boy’s bravery and embrace him and comfort him through this difficult time.”

  • Bush Administration and the South American Triangle Area: Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay

West Palm Beach, FL – March 8, 2006 – Today, 2008 White House Contender sent a message the US administration regarding South America’s Triangle area of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay.

“In the past I have called on our administration and George W. Bush to pay keen attention to our South American neighbors. Recent events in Argentina have brought me to this press release. In my past years I have made recommendations relating to strengthening relations with South America specifically after the attacks on 9/11,” stated Imperato.

With terrorism moving to a global stage, terrorist organizations, such as Hamas and Hezbollah, have started to expand their influence globally.

“This situation now has grown almost out of hand. There are reports pertaining to terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah and Hamas searching for additional funds in South America in areas such as Argentina. This brings tremendous heartache for me as an individual who has spent a lot of time in the region. Most importantly it could bring devastating results from the support of these organizations from our neighboring countries and long term repercussions with these types of organizations getting closer to our back door,” explained Imperato.

Imperato called on the nations of the region and their intelligence agencies to work together to address the terrorist situation.

“I call on our administration and President George W. Bush to move rapidly with relations to South America and to work closely with their government and intelligence agencies pertaining to security and security identification and infrastructure systems pertaining to banking money transfer and social security identification programs,” expressed Imperato.

The infiltration of South America by terrorist groups has alarmed Imperato, who has constantly made recommendations to curb these potential problems.

“This disturbing information pertaining to hundreds of millions of dollars being extracted from the South American region and being put in the hands of terrorist organizations, has been going on for many years. Once again I stand up to reiterate the fact that I personally made recommendations to our administration in the past regarding these potential problems that are now existing that could have been curbed,” said Imperato.

“I hope and pray that our administration doesn’t take this lightly and that there is a grave endangerment that may be confronting us in South America. Moreover the activity between the South American Triangle region and furthering the relations with the new regimes in Central America are heightening my personal concern about our neighbor,”

Imperato called for an Americas Summit in order to address some of these problems.

“Our administration must take immediate action and I believe that a summit should be called in the Americas. I believe that our relations with our South American neighbors ought to be discussed diplomatically and repaired immediately before this situation gets out of control,” contended Imperato.

As his goal for 2008, Imperato promised change for US relations in the region.

“When I become president in 2008, I can assure you that I will address these issues fast and collectively. I believe in long term capital gains that could be had within our continents and believe that our country and our administrations has been lax in that area,” expressed Imperato.

Imperato also wanted to address how important Hispanics are to this country.

“I stand up to say once again that the Spanish language is the number 2 language in the USA, and the Spanish people have supported our economy and the strength of our country. We need to give back to the Spanish American and support the democratic desires of the Central and South American-US citizens by collectively working with their own cultures in order to influence their neighboring countries utilizing their diplomacy and their relationships in country in order to stabilize South and Central America,” explained Imperato.

Imperato concluded his statement with the following remarks, “We also must not forget our Caribbean islands and must recognize immediately that relationships with this part of the world are urgent and we must call on our Central and South American- US citizens, and our partners in the region to beef up security, utilize diplomacy, and engage in peaceful relationships with our neighbors.”

  • Dubai Ports World, Arab Civility and Who’s Behind the Deal

West Palm Beach, FL – March 1, 2006 – Today, 2008 Presidential Candidate Daniel Imperato spoke out about Dubai Ports World and the recent Arab show of civility towards the recent controversy over the British P&O buyout.

“Once again the Middle East and the Arab people show their customs in allowing our president George W. Bush and our administration the time necessarily to complete the necessary investigations pertaining to the ports deal. This is a typical Arab gesture which is in accordance with mutual respect for leadership. This clearly shows the world the class of the UAE government to utilize diplomacy and courteousness with their eloquent gesture,” stated Imperato.

Recently Dubai Ports World offered to allow further review to alleviate US legislators’ national security concerns about handing management of the ports to a company owned by the Dubai government.

“Upon receipt of the new notification, CFIUS (the committee on foreign investment in the US) will promptly initiate the review process, and fulfill DP World’s request for a full investigation,” the agency said at the weekend.

The request, made with the US unit of UK Company Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation (P&O), gives the White House time to convince congress not to block the $6.85bn deal.

“We are confident the further review … will confirm DP World’s acquisition of P&O’s US operations does not pose any threat to America’s safety and security,” said Ted Bilkey, chief operating officer of DP World.

Imperato felt that whether DP World or any other company was running the ports, security needed to be upgraded. jjj

“In addition,” Imperato said, “the real issue here is not whether the British owned P&O Company who has allowed our ports and their security to go downhill, and if in fact the potential security breach that is being questioned is related to Dubai Ports Takeover of P&O. I would like to stand up to tell the American people and our administration that the security of the ports whether owned by P&O or Dubai ports must increase drastically and be upgraded to today’s standards, no matter who owns P&O.”

However, despite the positive cooperation of DP World, Imperato felt that the US Government should have assisted an American company to finance the acquisition of P&O so that “our American people can operate the ports, our homeland security can be part of the operation and we can increase jobs for the American people. We could control our security and be proud that our American company took control of the P&O Company and puts back the American brand on our ports.”

Imperato concluded his remarks with the following, “I particularly would like to ask the people of the United States of America to lean on our administration and our president George W. Bush to reveal the facts about the preexisting arrangement and that, in this case, the devil may be in the detail. The multimillion dollar question is who is behind the ports deal? What lobby firm worked on behalf of the deal? And who was associated in positioning Dubai Ports to Take over P&O.”

  • 2008 White House Contender on United States and Yemen Jailbreak and USS Cole Terrorist Attack

West Palm Beach, FL – February 28, 2006 – Today 2008 White House Contender Daniel Imperato brought the current situation in Yemen to the attention of the Bush Administration and the American people.

“I call on our administration and our president George W. Bush to take a serious look toward Yemen. In these times of strategic positioning of foreign governments controlling and managing ports around the world, I stick particular importance to the port of Yemen and the country of Yemen,” stated Imperato.

“I call on our president George W. Bush to act swiftly and vigorously towards the present administration and the country of Yemen. In accordance with the release of prisoners from the USS Cole terrorist attacks that cost the American people millions and millions to capture and now have been set free, brings particular attention to the government of Yemen and their positioning.”

Imperato pointed to the history of the region and the interest of other nations such as Russia.

“The history of Yemen has been that of a very strong strategic position pertaining to the previous war with Russia and the interest that Russia had in the region. I specifically state that history should not repeat itself and that the current situation in Yemen shows clearly the potential inability for the administration of Yemen to maintain the relations needed with the USA in order to securitize ports in Yemen, which is strategically positioned between East Africa and the Middle East,” explained Imperato.

Because of its strategic position, Imperato felt that Yemen could be used as the gateway for many inappropriate activities.

“The strategic country of Yemen could be used as the gateway to terrorism, illegal drug trafficking, and inappropriate shipping of materials that may be hazardous to the world. The government of Yemen has been playing a very interesting role. They have been appeasing our President George W. Bush, who is blinded by the fact that the money being spent may have not been for the interest of America or that of the region. Yemen has also taken money from countries such as France, but behind the scenes the most important issue is that money that possibly could be coming into the country that may be from terrorist organizations like Al-Qaeda, who would like to see Yemen and the region in turmoil” asserted Imperato.

According to Imperato, the US needs to step up and play a larger role with the government of Yemen in order to prevent the spread of future potential inappropriate activities.

“I believe that the Prisoners of War left in the Yemen jails, may have set free deliberately and that our President George W. Bush must pay serious attention and must denounce this activity and must address the current leadership. Bush must make sure that if he doesn’t want the spread of drug trafficking, the spread of money laundering, the spread of terrorism, which is already being uprooted in the East African countries. He must act now.”

“Then George W. Bush must stop the escalating situation and negotiate with the leadership in Yemen and make sure that the current leadership adheres to US policy and protect US interests in the region for the people and the citizens of Yemen. The current leadership in Yemen should not be renewed by the citizens of Yemen if the leadership do not step up their security and compliment US strategy for the region” expressed Imperato.

The United States, in Imperato’s estimation, needs to support an administration in Yemen that has a positive plan to benefit the region and the world.

“The President of the United States of America must support an administration in the country of Yemen that has proven relations with the United States of America, with the interest of the USA and everyone at hand, specifically the people and the citizens of Yemen. We need an administration that has the ability and desire to curb the evolution of the country of Yemen’s direction which could be going the wrong way.”

Imperato concluded his statement with the following remarks, “Mark my words President George W. Bush, if you don’t nip this in the bud, East Africa will get out of control. I ask our administration and the administration in Yemen to come together and make sure that incidents like jailbreak don’t happen again to protect its citizens of Yemen, the people in the region and to collaborate with the United States of America for better security.”

  • White House Candidate Imperato Sends Condolences to the Philippines

West Palm Beach, FL – February 28, 2006 – Today, 2008 White House Candidate Daniel Imperato sent his condolences to the people of the Phillippines after the recent mudslides that occurred in the remote farming community of Guinsaugon, about 675km south-east of Manila.

“My heartfelt sympathies go out to the families of those affected by the recent mudslides. I know the families of those lost are in a world of pain, and hope and pray that they can find strength to move forward,” expressed Imperato.

The search for survivors from the deadly February 17 Philippine mudslide was called off as rescue workers gave up hope for nearly a thousand people buried under a huge crust of earth and debris, a senior official said on Saturday.

Imperato wanted the Filipino people to know that the world is behind them.

“I send my full support to the Filipino people and want them to know that the world is behind them. In this time of tragedy, I call on President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo of the Philippines, to stand tall and to be a light and show the rest of the world the strength of the Filipino people,” stated Imperato.

  • Hamas, Israel, the Palestinian Conflict, and Condoleezza Rice

West Palm Beach, Fl – February 23, 2006 – Today, 2008 White House Candidate Daniel Imperato (www.daniel2008.com) elaborated on the diplomatic fumbles of Condoleezza Rice in the Israel/Palestinian Conflict.

“I would like to point out to the people of the USA, that our Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice made her greatest debut announcing her wonderful deal in the Gaza Strip some months ago pertaining to opening up the passageway between Israel and the Palestinians.”

The deal, brokered by Rice, allowed for the passageway of Palestinians into the Gaza Strip and also cleared the way for Hamas to vote in the elections.

“Once again this situation has proven to be detrimental to the region and has proven to be inappropriate at the present times. The USA has been supporting the Palestinian efforts and fueling and funding the Palestinians.”

Recent reports have shown the US has been a long-time supporter of the Palestinian Liberation Authority (PLA), with receipts totaling some $400 million of contributions to the Organization.

“Unfortunately the money has not been spent on the people of Palestine. The money has been spent in the area of weaponry in terrorist organizations, basically training the youth and taking advantage of the poor young people. They are manipulating the youth to develop their mindset of hatred of Israel, hatred of the world and peace in it, and have stunted the intelligence of these young children through terrorism, suicide attacks and war,” stated Imperato.

“Now our administration finds out that the money we’ve been fueling the Palestinians with has not been spent properly. In addition, while the USA and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice were supportive of democracy in the region and demanded that Israel allows Hamas to vote in the election in a democratic way. They now stand up to say that we will not support Hamas, the democratically elected government of Palestine.”

Imperato suggested that our lack of knowledge of the region has led to the recent problems encountered by our administration.

“We are invested in the Palestinians, built up Hamas through the Palestinians, allowed them and supported them to vote, and basically dropped the ball. It shows once again that our administration and its diplomatic approach to Middle East politics is completely inappropriate, flip-flopped, and being undermined by the very region based upon the weakness of our administration’s capabilities. This is clearly because of our administration’s inexperience in the region and inability to be able to measure and study the region as it should have been studied long before.

Additionally, Imperato also called on George W. Bush to work with the Arab League for peace.

“I once again call on our president George W. Bush and our administration to call on the Arab League. Our administration must listen to the Arab League’s point of view and participate with their leadership to digest the strategic studies of the Arab League’s understanding of the region and its conflicts. We must embrace the Arab League’s leadership and collaborate with them in diffusing the situation that is growing towards negative dangerous results in the Middle East and for the rest of the world.”

  • UAE Ports Deal: America Losing Out Again

West Palm Beach, FL – February 22, 2006 – In response to the recent port sale controversy, 2008 US Presidential Contender Daniel Imperato reminded us that the real argument is not whether the United Arab Emirates (UAE) should run our ports, but rather whether any foreign company or foreign government should do so.

“First of all, I would like to take the time to explain to the citizens of the USA the deal pertaining to the US ports being taken over by the UAE government owned company. It is very disturbing not because it’s the UAE or the Dubai based company but because America is selling out,” stated Imperato.

The issue at hand is the $5.8 billion sale of the London-based Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company – a private firm which had run commercial operations at six key U.S. ports – to the government-owned Dubai Ports World.

Imperato felt that our government was not taking responsibility for our ports, and lacked fiscal responsibility.

“Our country is in so much debt, both publicly and foreign, and our deficit is so high that our government is nearly bankrupt. Our administration continues to spend money like drunken sailors. Our leadership in this country has gone from organized, protective, with pride and privilege, to hog-wild spending, confusion, mixed signals, and inappropriate governance pertaining to the security of the United States and the people in it,” explained Imperato.

Many congressmen in the US House and Senate have been opposed to the deal on the grounds that the UAE has involvement with terrorism.

Imperato strongly disagreed with those who are misinformed and who fail to realize that the UAE is an important country to the stability of the Middle East region and has been one of our best allies against terror.

“First of all, the UAE is one of the finest countries and governments in the world. They support their people. They give government housing. The ruling family of the country is supportive of all. The country is growing leaps and bounds and the government is stronger than most. The leadership of the UAE pertaining to the region is remarkable and the region should take note of their success.”

“The port issue should not be misconstrued again as our administration has been misconstruing it. The Democrats and Republicans continue to throw stones and label countries and religions, constantly mixing the two. Once again I am highly offended at the administration’s actions and the Democrats and Republicans’ rhetoric.”

The real issue at hand for Imperato was that the United States of America was ‘selling out’.

“The USA and its people should clearly understand that the port deal has nothing to do with whether the UAE is safe and secure. It has to do with the fact that no US port should be operated by any foreign government or foreign company. The United States of America is selling out because it doesn’t have the money or the resources to expand its government interests around the world as others do,” asserted Imperato.

Another sign that the US is running out of money is the fact that it has not properly funded port security.

Earlier this month, the president of the American Association of Port Authorities complained that the $708 million allotted for maritime security over the past four years amounted to only one-fifth of what the port authorities had identified as needed to properly secure the ports.

This has lead to improper, under-funded, port security that causes cargo to go unchecked when entering our nation, a major security breach.

“While the British P&O company controls our ports that are in disaster, our friend Lou Dobbs says on the CNN reports along with some of the senators state that our ports are very vulnerable and that a large percentage of cargo goes unchecked,” stated Imperato.

“We should continue to tell the world that we are at risk. We should continue to allow other governments to reinvest their money and their capital in the energy sector and the shipping sector while America continues to spend its money digging holes that they can’t get out of, making recommendations of leadership in countries which we have no control over, and allowing the world to get ahead of us,” explained Imperato.

Imperato went on to state that if the UAE didn’t buy the ports, another government would have.

“The fact remains that if it wasn’t the UAE and the Dubai based company, it would have been a Chinese based company or a Singapore based company who would have been buying all of the ports. If you look at the history, the ports around the world have been up for sale and have been operated by other organizations and foreign companies for a long period of time,” said Imperato.

According to Imperato, it was time for American companies to step up and take a real interest and ownership in America.

“The USA is vulnerable not because of the UAE, but because our own country and our own companies are not even interested in protecting our homeland and putting up the capital necessary to make our homeland the most secure homeland in the world. No. Our companies and the leadership in those companies are more interested in shipping jobs offshore, hiring immigrant labor, and allowing their companies and their visions of their companies to sell out America,” stated Imperato.

Doing business with the UAE was not the problem in Imperato’s view, in fact, it was a good idea. The real problem is that we neglected our homeland security and have lacked on diplomatic relations around the world.

“The leadership of our country George W. Bush, is half wrong and half right. The UAE is a strong supporter against the war on terrorism and has a lot to protect in their own backyard particularly in the ports of Yemen. What is most important is that George W. Bush and our administration should not be in a position of weakness and our own companies should not be in a position of weakness. We the government of the USA and the companies of the USA should be operating our ports and our security, employing our American people, and not giving jobs away to any country or any government. We should stop throwing stones at other countries for security when our own country’s security was breached on 9/11. This is an outrage.”

“Our president ought to take serious note of the damage that he is causing around the world. We have got Venezuela, and threats from Venezuela to shut off the energy and oil supply. We have got problems with Russia becoming the watchdog for Iran. We have India upset because America is bullying them into the Iran nuclear situation. We’ve got China upset because our administration is forceful and demanding and not peaceful and diplomatic.”

Imperato called for the American people to take a more proactive role.

“We the American people must stand up. We the companies of the USA must stand tall. Our leadership and our president George W. Bush must pay attention to the destruction of our global relationships through the means of our Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice making statements threats, and demands on other countries and our Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld doing the same.”

The United States needed to focus, according to Imperato, less on the UAE and more on itself.

“The mission of the USA should be aimed at peace and the leadership of the country should a light to the world. I am sorry and sad to say that we are not. I am also ashamed to say that our government, the Democrats and Republicans, are throwing stones and creating rhetoric over the shipping ports and putting a label on one of the finest countries in the world, the UAE.”

Imperato then concluded his statement with the following remarks, “Instead of stating the fact that no foreign government or no foreign company should operate our ports, such as P&O and the British who have controlled these ports and have huge security breaches already, our government has waffled. Not to mention, I do believe that the UAE will probably increase the security mechanisms at our ports. But that’s not the issue. The issue is America must first find out is how it must beef up its security internally, and the companies of the United States of America must start owning back America.”

  • Imperato Points Out Increased Traffic the French Convenience Store

West Palm Beach, FL – February 22, 2006 – With global tensions escalating, 2008 Presidential Contender Daniel Imperato pointed out that when countries are looking for weapons and nuclear equipment, they visit the ‘French Convenience Store’.

“This is the next president of the United States of America addressing his people pertaining to the issues at hand with France as a country, its leadership, and its supply of nuclear equipment. This address is also about the ping pong game being played with Russia, China, and France and the squeezing that’s going on against America. This is all because of the dislike of the Bush Administration’s foreign policy and because of the Bush administration’s lack of diplomacy towards toward other countries around the world, enabling the French to be able to position themselves keenly,” stated Imperato.

Recently, France has made international headlines by announcing that they are close to a ‘Nukes Deal’ with India.

“I call on our administration and our president to pay particular attention to the French administration’s interest in a ‘Nukes Deal’ with India. On the heels of the USA trying to create what seems to be a secure and peaceful situation with Iran, although it is very forceful and manipulative, our friends, the Indians, have found a better ally to support their nuclear program in France,” explained Imperato.

Imperato is weary of France’s relations with India, as well as India’s decreasing positive relations with the United States.

“India, in the coming future, will be as important as China is today. Alienating India is a grave mistake by our administration and by our president. Supporting Pakistan and its nuclear program, ignoring India, and squeezing India to side with the US against Iran, are not diplomatic moves that I would be making in region,” said Imperato.

Under his administration, Imperato stated that major policy decisions must be changed for the better.

“When I am president of the United States of America, things will change and the respective countries, policies, religions, and customs will be recognized. Our decisions will be based upon total recognition of the country that we are dealing with respect to their atmosphere and individuality. While India plans to begin their talks, America could be losing an ally in India, who supports many of employment bases for US companies. Alienating India would be a grave mistake by our administration,” asserted Imperato.

Imperato also thought it was convenient that France was one of the first to report that Iran was looking for nuclear weapons on the open market.

“While India and France get closer to their ‘Nuke Deal’, France says that Iran seeks Nukes, and guess what, why does France know that Iran seeks Nukes? It is probably because France would be supplying them. The positioning of the French, in my opinion, is not peaceful. It is itching on the conflict in the region to once again position France to supply more weaponry to the region to benefit their economy and to increase sales of their products. On one hand they state that they want peace, while on the other they are serving disaster on a silver platter. This must stop.”

Immediate discussions, according to Imperato, are required between the United States and France so that the United States can clearly determine the French position.

“Our administration must take the time to get together with Jacques Chirac, to understand the clear and definite position of France and the French government because, after all, any war of any aggression in the region would not be good for France and its citizens and would not be good for the rest of the world.”
